Joseph C. Torello, Jr., 83, of East Haven, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the West Haven VA Hospital after a brief illness. Joseph was born in New Haven on April 12, 1934 and was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Christine D’Amato Torello. He also had his own music studio for 25 years where he enjoyed teaching many students to play the guitar. He is survived by his brother Pasquale Torello and his sisters Marie Milano and Patricia DeCusati.

This Victorian style home was built in 1872 and was the homestead of Dr. Robert B. Goodyear, a local physician. To this day it stands as a landmark in the center of the North Haven Historical Society. And Helen M. Rousseau for the purpose of starting a funeral home. On September 4th, 1953 Mr. and Mrs. Rousseau started The North haven Funeral Home and made their home on the second floor along with their two daughters. In 1957 a larger viewing chapel, preparation room, smoking lounge, ladies and men’s rooms were added.
